March 6, 2015

Reading  The students will finish their digital slide presentation on their country by adding maps and pictures. Also, next week we will be reading City Green, by DyAnne DiSalvo Ryan. It is a story about citizens working together to improve their neighborhood. Students will be able to ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text as well as tell important details about how a story begins and ends. By the end of the week students will be writing a narrative about a time that something happened in their neighborhood.

Reading Logs March Reading logs went home this week. Don't forget to log your minutes! If your child has been reading for 21 days each month, they will be eligible for a free ticket to the Kane County Cougars baseball game. A letter will be going home next week.

We had our February READING CELEBRATION on Tuesday. We celebrated with lunch in the classroom, a Magic School Bus Video and freeze pops. Students were also given a coupon for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. Way to go readers!
