Social Science We will continue our inheritance and traits unit. Students will identify organisms that are closely related as they first listen to and sort bird sounds and later match bears by their traits. They will develop an understanding of the concept of a species while  observing similarities and variation within the traits of a species.

Spelling  New words will go home on Monday, January 6, the day we return from winter break.

They will be choosing animal teeth and then writing an argumentative piece on why they think the animal teeth they chose are the best to have. We will also be writing about a New Year's Resolution.

Don't forget to read for 20 minutes/20 days. December reading logs are due Monday, January 6, when we return.

Keep practicing those multiplication facts.  After break we will be working with the 2's.  A practice sheet went home today. A fact quiz will be given on Wednesday, January 8. It is NOT timed! Students are responsible for mastering the multiplication facts up to 12. The quiz will have about 26 math facts.  Flash cards are a great resource!

If your child should forget their Student Book or their Home Connections workbook at school, they can go into my google math classroom from a home computer and print the page they will need to complete for homework.
