Mrs. Caliendo's Chronicles
December 13, 2019

SEL Our SEL focus this week was making friends.  Students learned that knowing how to begin a conversation, keep it going, and end it in a friendly way helps them get along better with others. Also, focusing attention on and listening to others help them keep a conversation going.

Social Science We will continue our inheritance and traits unit. Students will make observations of various organisms and record the way in which their traits are similar or different.

Spelling We had our test today. New words will not go home until after the winter break.

English Language Arts   Students that did not finish typing their family tradition in class will have to finish it this weekend. It is due Monday. Their illustrated quilt piece describing their own family tradition is also due Monday.

We will read Twas the Night Before Christmas and illustrate what the author wants his readers to visualize in their heads.

Don't forget to read for 20 minutes/20 days.

Mrs. Caliendo's Math Class  We will finish up Unit 2 with an assessment on Thursday. A study guide went home today. Please review it with your child. It is due on Wednesday.

Keep practicing those multiplication facts.  Next week we will be working with the 11's.  A practice sheet went home today. A fact quiz will be given on Wednesday, Dec. 18th. It is NOT timed! Students are responsible for mastering the multiplication facts up to 12. The quiz will have about 26 math facts.  Flash cards are a great resource!

If your child should forget their Student Book or their Home Connections workbook at school, they can go into my google math classroom from a home computer and print the page they will need to complete for homework.
