Ms. Zurales' 3rd Grade News

ELA To culminate our ELA and Social Science Units on Storytelling: Culture and Traditions, the students will take part in an independent study projects that incorporates not only our textual learning, but also their technology and presentation skills. Each student will be asked to select a country that they have family ancestry or a personal connection. Please help your child with this. They are to come to school on Wednesday with the country they want to research. Please look for the Culture Day Presentation Guidelines that will be coming home on Monday. Thank you for your help! 

Spelling  Students had an assessment today. Monday a new sort will go home. Students should be sorting their words every night. They are to complete 6 activities at the end of the 2 week period. Please make sure you initial the box on the menu that the work has been completed. The next due date for homework and test is Friday, March 11.

Math Our next unit is Geometry. We will have a X10 test on Thursday.

Social Studies We will continue our study on Chicago. We will focus on its early history and its lakes and rivers. 

Important Announcements

     I am looking for more volunteers to help me organize my classroom library to align with Fountas & Pinnell's reading levels.  If you have some extra time to give, please email me. You can come in when it is convenient for you. This can me done over the next several weeks. Thank you!  Thank you Mrs. Wawro for your help!!          

Wyatt is our Panther of the week. He likes to play basketball and fish. Did you know he went ice fishing with his grandpa and caught a huge fish?
