Ms. Zurales' Class News
ELA We will continue our Culture and Traditions Unit. Please be aware that we will be doing a lot of writing (and keyboarding) in the next few weeks as we begin our culture research projects. Some writing will become homework, if necessary. January Reading logs went home on Tuesday. Don't forget to read for 20 minutes each night.
LANGUAGE ARTS Our focus will be on Affixes.
SPELLING New words sorts went home on Tuesday. Homework (3 items on the menu, 1 from each column) is due on Friday, January 13, which is also the date of the test.
MATH Ms. Zurales' math class will begin the week solving one step measurement story problems then we will work with measurement story problems that require more than one step and one operation to solve. There will be a measurement checkpoint quiz on Friday. We will be starting mad minutes with multiplication facts on Monday. A practice sheet will go home on Mondays and a 1 minute test will be given on Fridays. Next week will be the 2's.
Science Students will continue learning about the properties of matter. Next week we will explore buoyancy. There will be an open book/notes graded review covering Lesson 1, on Thursday.
