Ms. Zurales' 3rd Grade News

ELA. We are reading the novel The One and Only Ivan. Students are completing a packet that addresses multiple reading skills. 

Don't forget to read for 20 minutes each night and record it in the April Log.

SPELLING  New spelling sorts will NOT go home until Monday, April 23.

SOCIAL SCIENCE Social Studies:  The 2nd Chicago Test will be on Monday. Students can use their study guide they filled out. If it is not completed or it is forgotten at home, they will have to take the test from memory.  In addition, we will be learning about political changes and the many cultures in Chicago. We will also be working on our brochures. Each child will research a fun place to visit in Chicago and create a travel brochure.

MATH  Ms. Zurales' math class:  We will begin our last unit, Extending Multiplication and Fractions. Our next fact quiz will be on Division, the 2s, on Wednesday, April 18. 

If your child should forget their Student Book or their Home Connections workbook at school, they can go into my google math classroom from a home computer and print the page they will need to complete for homework.

Important Dates & Announcements

PARCC ELA  testing will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure your child gets a good night sleep and eats a healthy breakfast.  Chromebooks will need to be fully charged every night and headphones/earbuds should be brought to school daily!
